We understand the importance of logistically
moving equipment and materials to and from Costa Rica. This
is a critical part of our manufacturing process and we put
a great deal of effort into it.
Because we are close to the San Jose international airport
and the fact that the country is both small and geographically
close to North America, transportation times can be very short.
We are currently the third largest customer to UPS in Costa
Rica, with twice daily shipments for clients in North America.
So chances are, if you need fast deliveries, you’ll
get it.
Shipping to/from Costa Rica
Expedited Freight
All of the major overnight carriers do business in
Costa Rica offering various services depending on price and
delivery terms.
Overnight service normally takes 1-2 days and expedited usually
2-3 days.
Non Expedited Freight
For shipments that do not require expedited deliveries there
are of course various options depending on the size and type
of the freight.
For larger and heavier shipments (over 200kg / 440 lbs) and
chemicals (including Hazmat) a freight forwarder can be used
to ship or receive materials/products.
If the freight is above 200kg and/or very large in size, shipping
by sea can be used, however of course not as fast as by air.
There are two main ports in Costa Rica, Limon (Caribbean)
and Caldera (Pacific).
Customs Brokerage in Costa Rica
Whenever shipping overseas, clearing customs and final delivery
should be considered.
There are various charges associated with these and by contacting
Tico Electronics we can answer questions in order to better
assist you.
